Funny Sister Maid of Honor Speech

As little girls, we didn't have the typical childhood when it comes to dreaming about getting married. In all the movies, you hear people talk about how they've always dreamed of getting married and have it all planned out in their head by the age of 14. Ours just wasn't quite like that. And all it takes is two words to explain why and those two words are John Handrick. From the time we could even begin to speak, Dad had one very specific rule drilled into our brains. Every night before we went to bed, Dad would call us into the living room, where we would line up in front of the recliner and recite the following: No boyfriends, No getting married, Yes sir and then salute him. Needless to say for a really long time we all avoided boys completely, but more importantly thank you Elizabeth for taking one for the team. Since you were the first one to have a boyfriend and now are married, collectively between the three of us we've officially managed to break every rule mom and dad made for us.

All jokes aside though I cannot even begin to tell you how happy I am for you and Andrew. From day one you have been the best big sister and role model. You have loved Emma and me so well growing up, always leading, encouraging and challenging us. There is no doubt in my mind that all of the great qualities I've been fortunate enough to see over the past 21 years will carry over into your marriage. It has been such a blessing to see you both grow as a couple over the last six years. And I'm so excited to officially have the brother I've always wanted. You both complement each other so well and are a true example of unconditional love. I love you both so much and can't wait to see what god has planned for you both from this day forward. So cheers to the bride and groom.

Andrew,
I'm sure you know exactly what I'm doing as I'm writing this letter to you. That's right, crying. I can't believe that this day is finally here. The day that we become husband and wife. Today we celebrate our past present and future with all of our friends and family. I look forward to more adventures in the jeep, more winery and brewery dates, traveling the world with you and eventually starting a family of our own. In a short amount of time, we will exchange vows but there are a few more that I would like to add. I promise to honor you, respect you and to motivate you every day. To never keep score even when I know I'm right. To be patient even when you're stubborn. To make you always laugh more like laughing at me. To always ask for just one more kiss or one more hug. Most importantly, I promise to give you my whole heart for the rest of my life. I can't wait to see you forever and always. I love you.
Elizabeth

Elizabeth,
It's crazy to think this all started six years and five months ago. Each and every day my love for you continues to grow. I wouldn't be where I am today if it weren't for you. You are the best thing that has happened to me. I know this hasn't gone exactly how we dreamed. You have stayed steady through it all and I love you all the more for that. This is the day we've been waiting for for so long. It's finally here. I can't wait to marry you and call you my wife.
I love you. Elizabeth
Forever Yours,
Andrew

The best trait Andrew has is his loyalty to his friends and family. Growing up, if anyone had a problem with me, they also had to deal with him. So Elizabeth, you should feel safe knowing that you're going to have someone that you've chosen will be in your corner through everything. The good times, the bad times. Difficult ones and good ones. You'll be a partner that you can rely on for the rest of your life. So I'm excited to have you join our family. So I like to say congrats to the bride and groom.

Hi Elizabeth. Take you Andrew to be my husband.
Hi Andrew. Take you Elizabeth to be my wife.
I promise to be faithful to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. To love you and to honor you all the days of my life.

And I'd like to now introduce formerly Mr and Mrs Andrew and Elizabeth.
