How to measure
Use a soft measuring tape and ask someone to help. Keep the tape level and snug, without pulling tight. The first three illustrations show body measurements; shoulder, sleeve and outseam illustrate garment measurement points.

- 1. Chest
- With the tape level, measure around the fullest part of your chest. Stand naturally and breathe normally.
- 2. Waist
- Measure around your natural waist without pulling the tape tight. For trousers, also compare the garment waist with a pair that fits.
- 3. Hips
- Measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat, with your feet together. Keep the tape horizontal.
- 4. Shoulder width
- For a garment comparison, measure a well-fitting jacket across the back from one shoulder seam to the other.
- 5. Sleeve length
- Measure a well-fitting jacket from the shoulder seam down the outside of the sleeve to the cuff.
- 6. Trouser outseam
- Lay well-fitting trousers flat. Measure along the outside seam from the top of the waistband to the hem.
